A new study has found that African American women who use talcum powder products for feminine hygiene may face an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer compared to women of other ethnic backgrounds. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, compared the use of talcum powder among women who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer, including African American women, to those who had not been diagnosed with the disease. Ovarian cancer victims filed talcum powder class action lawsuit in Canada against Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson is facing a class action lawsuit in Canada alleging that the company’s talcum powder products may cause ovarian cancer in women who used them for feminine hygiene. The Canadian talcum powder class action lawsuit comes just months after juries in the U.S. awarded multi-million dollar verdicts in a pair of lawsuits filed on behalf of women who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer after using Johnson & Johnson talcum baby powder products.
